RM: For our first post in our ICONS, we choose non other than of course, Carrie Bradshaw played by Sarah Jessica Parker. She is a fictional character from the TV Series and Movies Sex and the City; she is also a fashion icon not only to us but also to everyone who is obsessed with fashion. I cannot name one fashionista out there who doesn’t know or who doesn’t worship her.
ROCHELLE: Kuya RM introduced me to her when I was like 14 years old. I’m really not familiar with her since I have not watch the TV series before. I first saw her in the Sex and the City movie, I have been obsessed with Carrie Bradshaw since then.
RM: I remember sneaking late at night to watch the series. I secretly watch the series then and have been obsessed with Carrie’s style and also the style of other three characters, Miranda Hobbes, Charlotte York and of course the Samantha Jones.
ROCHELLE: I first watched the two movies then the series then the movies again. I can’t remember how many times Kuya and I have watched it. Yes, that’s how obsessed we are with her and with Sex and the City. She is also the inspiration for the theme of my debut. She is also one of my forever style inspirations. She our inspiration on the Carrie On look we did.
RM: Carrie Bradshaw’s style is so iconic and so classic. Thanks to Patricia Field, the responsible for her iconic looks. Carrie’s look from her famous Tutu skirt, her Newspaper Dress, her Vivienne Westwood Custom Wedding Gown to her Bird Headpiece, I think nothing can describe really what the definition of her style.
ROCHELLE: Carrie’s always-taking risk for her fashion choices, mixing different prints, her take on menswear, her casual glam looks, her sexy yet classy looks, her bag choices and of course her shoe choices. Let’s be honest that Carrie Bradshaw introduces us to Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and Manolo Blahnik. There will always be a hint of Carrie Bradshaw in all of us.
